This was very helpful to me as I started practice routine #1 today. It was harder than I expected and in spite of my having practiced diligently and carefully up to this point, I found several places that really need work.
Has my membership expired? If not when is my renewal;?
I am looking forward to learning about the Bach Cello Suites from Dr. Jacques Lee Woods during Summer School. Today I started seriously working on the Allemande, Suite #1 in hopes of having a coaching opportunity with him in June. I assume that several of the participants are working on the Prelude and this will give a little variety.
always good to listen to your podcasts – never a dull moment- great advise as always
Hi Simon,
This sounds like a fun and creative challenge. I don’t however know which routine book to buy. I am assuming book 3. What are your thoughts. At out lessons last year I played the David Russel Loch Lomand and Preludio de Adios. What are your thoughts.
Harvey
Hi Harvey! Hope you’re doing well. Yes, I think book 3 (Routines XI-XVI) would be a pretty good fit, though it will have some challenges (which is good!). What sort of technical exercises are you using currently?
Peace,
Dave B (CGC team)
Excellent presentation. Reviewed this today and will consider including the 20 practice routines for students in the 2020-2021 academic year. Thank you.
