It is a joy to be able to share with you the accomplishments of our members at CGC Academy. For this member spotlight, we’re featuring Robert Guerrero. Robert has been a member of the Academy for a couple of years now and is involved in pretty much every aspect of the site: he has attended two summer schools, he has performed in live seminars, he has submitted grade exams, he has participated in member challenges, he has been to the Pennsylvania CGC meetup (and performed in the masterclass with Simon!), and more. While Robert takes lessons from a private instructor he also supplements his lessons with the curriculum (and community) at CGCA. So it’s been fantastic to see his very clear progress since joining the Academy. Here’s a video of Robert performing the Largo from BWV 1056 by J.S. Bach. Please offer Robert your congratulations and a thank you for sharing his playing with us!
Way to go Robert! Beautiful playing and very relaxed.
Congratulations Robert! Beautifully performed.
Beautiful, bro!
Beautifully played Robert.
Bravo Robert! So impressive! I also still remember your topnotch Simple Mambo rendition.
Robert – Good job!
Listening to you was a great way to finish my practice this morning! Thanks Robert
Robert, you are an inspiration as we travel this path together. Keep it going- especially your positive outlook.
Very nice, Robert. I’m going to find this piece and play it muself, hoping that some day i’ll be as good as you!
Nicely done Robert. Encouraging to see such progress.
Hi Robert, great playing.
I noticed you are from Philly. I live up in Easton. I was at the “Classical guitar store” and I am looking to purchase a classical guitar soon. I assume that is where you got yours? Is that the Hanika 54PC ? I was looking at that or the Esteve Alegria. any feedback would be great. Maybe we will cross paths one day. I am new to the guitar and even newer to classical guitar, so I have a ways to catch up.
Hi Kevin,
Apologies for the lateness of my reply. Yes, I play a Hanika guitar (a 56 pf) purchased from the Classical Guitar Store in Center City Philadelphia. It’s a wonderful model, a very sturdy and steady student guitar. I know several other guitarists who play the same one and have had great success with it.
Hope to run into you either here on the site or at a local Philadelphia Classical Guitar Society event if you make it back into town.
Robert
